I’m a photographer, writer and educator who moved from New Hampshire to Seattle in 2011 to explore the rich culture here in the Pacific Northwest. I’ve just received my Master of Arts in Cultural Studies from University of Washington Bothell, and am excited for the adventures that now lie ahead! My photography work has involved live theater performance, weddings, portraits, and documentation of cultural change. As someone who finds great joy in working with children, I’ve taught theater as an artist-in-residence in public schools and worked as a writing tutor at elementary and middle schools. From 1995-2002 I lived in Gothenburg, Sweden, where I wrote and photographed for a travel magazine. In such a culturally diverse city I started to become interested in the challenges immigrants were facing and in their stories of uprooting and resettling. I’m happiest when collaborating creatively and I enjoy projects based on diversity, education, the arts and social change. I’ve published and performed short stories, memoir, and poetry, and am excited to explore storytelling in the lush beauty of my new home.
